Remodelling of Delhi Government Dispensaries into Polyclinics
With aim to reorganize the Health care facilities, Health and Family Welfare had Dept. proposed to operationalise Polyclinics in Delhi for meeting challenging task of providing quality Health Facilities to Delhi citizens. Delhi Govt Dispensaries at various districts were proposed to be remodelled into Polyclinics and attaching them with different Govt Hospitals. Medical Superintendents of attached hospital shall be made responsible for operation and management of these polyclinics from providing man power, drugs & consumables, logistics support to supervising day to day functioning. It is estimated that apx. Average Footfall of 3000 patients in each hospital shall be reduced substantially with start of functioning of these clinics.
Functional Planning Parameters and area requirements were formulated in consultations with various Health experts
Accordingly Delhi Govt Dispensaries at various districts were surveyed and documented by Consulting Architects incl. Arcop Associates Pvt. Ltd and 94 dispensaries were shortlisted for remodelling in two phases ( 47 each) The existing Dispensaries are generally two to three storied load bearing structures. The Final Designs by Consulting Architects proposed to remodel with additions mainly at Ground Floor and refurbishing entire structures through efficient space planning. The designs got approved with Health Committee constituted for the purpose. On the basis of DBR and Prelim Estimate submitted, apx Rs 168 cr were sanctioned by Govt. The work was undertaken by PWD.
